alumni association for HBTC

I believe you are doing fine and have been receiving the news sent by James, the principal of HBTC Surkhet. During my recent visit to Surkhet, James and I had a brief talk about having an Alumni meeting some time in the month of January 2010 in order to hear about their ministry, and what our alumni have been doing in the field. By holding such a meeting, we would be able to know how effective we have been in preparing the leaders and the church planters and also to thank God for what He has been doing in and through our alumni. We will appreciate hearing your thoughts about this idea. Thanking you for your friendship and partnership with us all these year and looking forward to a more meaningful partnership in the Gospel of Christ. Dil, Nepal.

progress in sixth batch

By the grace of God we in the Himalayan Bible Training Center Surkhet family are fine.We would like to thank you all for what you have been doing for the extension of God's kingdom here in Nepal. In this 6th batch we had 17 students but only a few weeks ago, one brother left our Bible School. Unfortunately he had only one and half months to go for his graduation but he could not complete the course. Let's pray for him also. The rest of other things are fine. Now James and Sandra have also arrived and brother James Chinnery has been indeed a great help for us. We are greatful to him also. He is taking class on November 29-30. Lastly, we need your constant prayer for this training center and its needs. Our 6th graduation will be on 3rd Dec. 2009 and we urge you to pray for that day also. Please do pray for Nepal's unstable political situation and its effects ont the entire nation. Thank you so much. In Christ, James Tamang, HBTC, Surkhet.

healing ministry in Itram

Dear prayer partner in Lord Jesus, warm greetings in His precious name. We family are fine here in answer to your prayers. We are praying for you all in the same hope and faith in our lovely God.
I am writing after long time. "God is doing miracle here". We are going to hold a healing crusade in the open air here in the second week of December. Please pray for this crusade to have healing for all kinds of sickness and bondage.
Now our church has 12 branch churches. Many local leaders are needed everywhere to run church ministries. It is a challenge to provide finance support in order to keep full time ministers there. If we could provide even small scholarship support to their children to study that would be great encourage for them.
We have two sisters they are very serious sick. One is Tara Basnet who has timber [tumour?] in the stomach that needs an operation but it can not take place because she has sugar [diabetes] and presser [hypertension?] so the doctor is not agreeing to operate yet. So pray for her to have a successful operation.
Next is Dhan Ruppa sister. Both these ladies are widows. Dhan Ruppa is a cured leprosy patient. She fell down the side of her home and broke her left hip. INF did try to treat her but it did not have success. Regional hospital and INF Surkhet referred to Doctor Binod in Nepalganj. He did advise that an operation could be a success but would be expensive and takes a long time. Meantime she can not stand nor walk, that’s why she is on bed rest at home. It is such a challenge for her so pray for her please.
We are also treating 3 ladies who have mental disorders. Father Jack is providing medicine now. They are taking medicine in our care and are recovering. God bless you richly. We are praying for your good health and ministry there. Nabin Darlami. Christia church Itram.

May our almighty God grant them strength and courage to stand firm in this difficult moment. He has two sons and a daughter. Thank you. a plague and a thanksgiving

Dear Dr. Rod and John,
Greetings from Nepal.

It has been some days since I wrote to you. I believe this email finds you in sound health and we are fine too. We thank for your untiring efforts to help us out.

Recently, a plague of diarrhoea claimed more than 400 lives in the upper midwest Nepal mainly in Jajarkot and neighboring districts and many more have been affected badly. Also many people lost lives and displaced in the landslides and flood triggered by incessant rain and will appreciate your prayers for them.

I have also attached the group picture of the 6th batch of Surkhet training centre that I received today and believe it will mean you much how people are eager to learn from the Word of the Lord.

Please let us know how we could pray for you too. Thanking you, Dil

Fifth graduation news

Cordial greetings from Mid-West Nepal.
First of all, we the Himalayan Bible Training Center Surkhet family would like to thank our caring and loving God from the bottom of our hearts for all His faithful provisions and guidance so far. We are grateful to you all same minded loving and caring people for your prayer, concern and financial support for this training center. We praise our God for all these heavenly blessings.
When we see and experience in our day-today lives how God works we amaze and wonder by seeing his blessings……..to God be the glory! On 10th June 2009, we graduated our 5th batch and 12 students from various districts completed this course successfully. The graduation program was held at Itram Church and there were 80-100 invitees from different churches. We had invited Pastor Solomon Gurung from Nissi Church(Earlier Bethel Church) as our chief guest but due to some unavoidable reason he was unable to come. So our Chief guest was Rev. Dil Bahadur Tamang the director of this training center and he himself delivered the word of God at the program.
Lastly we covet your prayers and encouragement for the glory and extension of His kingdom here in Nepal.

Our praise points-
 We praise God for His loving care, guidance and all heavenly provisions that we have been receiving from Him.
 We praise God for his faithfulness, blessings and dedicated students from various districts.
 We praise God for local HBTC Surkhet board and its commitment and advice for the betterment of this training center.
 We praise God for local church and organization's favor, love and concern towards our training center.
 We praise God for giving us like minded people like you all for the upliftment and the extension of His kingdom here in Nepal.
 We praise God for the successful completion of our 5th batch.

Our prayer requests-
 Please do pray for HBTC Surkhet's staff, all the visiting teachers and board so that whatever they do and teach may glorify his name alone.
 Please do pray for our alumnus, their needs and ministry.
 Please do pray for HBTC Surkhet's financial needs. As we do not have sufficient and long term support for this training.
 Please do pray for an audio video deck for audio video classes. Some of our teachers bring their teaching materials in CDs, if we could have that device, it would be far better for that purpose.
 Still we do not have a digital camera for this training center. If we could have digital camera, it would be easier to make reports and photographs. Please do pray for this also.
 Please do pray for our 6th batch and it will be starting from July 17th 2009.
 Please do pray for an aqua guard machine for purified drinking water. Due to unsafe drinking water many students get water related sickness in every batch.(Our humble request to you is- for Lord's sake if you could share these prayer requests to your friends, we would be indebted to you). Thanks

Greetings from Nepal.

Thank you for your patience in hearing from us. James Tamang, Samuel and I had been away in Salyan district, upper midwest Nepal to hold a leadership seminar and had a productive time together.
